The historic and beautiful city of Sawai Madhopur is a part of the state of Rajasthan. The city was initially under the rule of Muslim Rulers. Aurangzeb was the last Muslim ruler of the city, after which it was taken over by the Maharaja of Jaipur. It was later constructed by Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh I, who ruled the city of Jaipur. It was in the year 1763, and then coined the name after himself. The River Chambal bounds the city in east. This city is situated at the north east side of the pink city, Jaipur.
